Brands
Your brand and competitors: names, domains, colours, matching and suggested competitors.
Brands holds the names GEO Radar looks for in every answer: your own brand, and the competitors you want to compare against. Their names and domains decide what counts as a mention and which sources belong to whom.
Tracked brands
Your brand is the first row, marked You. Its name and domain come from Project settings. Competitors follow. On the Active tab, editors can click any part of a competitor row to change it:
- Colour
- The colour used for the brand in every chart. Auto picks one for you.
- Name
- How the brand is written in answers. Press Enter to save.
- Domains
- One per line. Subdomains are included automatically. They decide which sources count as the competitor’s own site.
- Stop tracking
- Moves the competitor to Inactive. Future scans ignore it, but past reports keep its data. Restore brings it back.
Click Add competitor
Enter the name as people write it, and its website.Pick a colour (optional)
Colours stay consistent across every report.Click Save competitor
Past answers that name it are read again, so its history fills in without waiting for new scans.
How brands are matched in answers
- A brand counts as mentioned when the answer contains its name, its domain, or a safe spelling of the name, such as the name written without spaces. A common word is only counted when it is written as a name.
- Quotes shown for a brand are always the answer’s exact words.
- A source counts as a brand’s own site when it is on one of its domains or their subdomains.
- When you add a brand or change its name or domains, past answers are matched again, so reports reflect the change for the whole history.
Suggested competitors
GEO Radar suggests competitors from your market research and from the brands AI names in your answers. Each suggestion shows how often AI names it in the last 30 days (“Named in N answers · recommended X% · M models”), whether it is a direct or adjacent competitor, and the evidence.
- Review opens the suggestion so you can correct the name, domains and colour before you Accept competitor.
- Reject removes it. It won’t be suggested again.
Added automatically
A direct competitor is tracked without waiting for you when all of these are true: GEO Radar is confident it competes with you, it has a website, AI named it in at least 10 answers on at least 2 models in the last 30 days, and you have fewer than 8 active competitors. Brands you rejected, stopped tracking or marked Not a competitor are never added. Neither are general tools such as AI assistants, review sites or publishers.
Owners, admins and editors manage brands. Viewers can see everything but change nothing.
